Ukrainian Borscht

A classic beet soup, deep red and earthy, with vegetables and roast pork the traditional Ukrainian way. It’s one of the dishes that made Veselka’s name. The East Village diner has simmered it since Ukrainian refugees Wolodymyr and Olha Darmochwal founded the place in 1954, and it’s still family-run today. The old-world classic that tastes like a New York institution.

INSTRUCTIONS / STORAGE

• Veselka ships on Monday-Friday of each week
• Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes
• Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight Shipping. Sorry guys!

• Soup ships frozen with ice packs, may thaw in transit.
• Upon arrival, store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

To Serve

Soup

• Pour the soup in a pot and reheat on the stove. Do not microwave in the container provided
• Serve and enjoy!

Potato Pancake – Add On

• Preheat oven to 400°F.
• Place frozen pancakes on an ungreased sheet pan.
• Place in oven and bake for approx. 20-25 minutes, flipping the potato pancakes after the first 10 minutes.
• Serve and enjoy!

Pierogis – Add On

• Allow pierogi to defrost completely and cook in salted boiling water for 3-4 minutes.
• Optional: After boiling, pan-fry pierogis in butter until golden brown.
• Serve & enjoy!
