Named for Ina’s friend Beatty, this is the chocolate cake that Barefoot Contessa regulars request by name: dark cocoa layers with freshly brewed coffee folded into the batter – the trick that makes chocolate taste more like itself – topped with a dense, glossy chocolate buttercream that sets like fudge. Ina Garten has been baking it from her East Hampton kitchen since the Barefoot Contessa days, when the store she bought on a whim in 1978 became the Hamptons’ most beloved food destination. INSTRUCTIONS / STORAGE

• Ina Garten’s Barefoot Contessa ships Monday-Friday of each week
• Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes
• Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight Shipping. Sorry guys!

• Cake ships frozen with dry ice
• Dry ice and cake may thaw in transit
• DO NOT remove dry ice with bare hands
• Upon arrival, remove plastic wrap and collar while cake is still frozen to ensure icing stays intact
  • Refrigerate: up to 3 days
  • Freeze: up to 2 months
• After thawing in the refrigerator, may be kept at room temperature for up to 4 hours

To Serve

• Allow to thaw in the refrigerator overnight
• Cake is best enjoyed after coming to room temperature for at least 2 hours before serving
