Blue Ombré Cake

Swirls of buttercream that shade from deep to pale blue, cascading around the cake like waves. It’s the cooler-toned counterpart to Edgar’s pink ombre showpiece, tinted and piped by hand. Edgar’s Bakery has decorated cakes this way in Birmingham since Terry and Dottie Smith opened in 1998 – an Alabama institution’s centerpiece for a birthday or shower that wants a striking, single-color statement.

INSTRUCTIONS / STORAGE

• Edgar’s Bakery ships Monday-Thursday of each week
• Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes
• Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight Shipping. Sorry guys!

• Cakes ship frozen with dry ice.
• Dry ice may dissipate in transit.
• Do not remove dry ice with bare hands.
• Store cake in the freezer for up to 45 days or in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

To Serve

• Thaw cake in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Bring cake to room temperature 1 hour prior to serving.
