This is it: the original grandma pizza! To make this signature pizza, a thin layer of freshly made dough is stretched out into a rectangular pan. The dough is then topped with shredded mozzarella cheese, fresh basil leaves, marinara sauce, garlic, and oregano, plus your choice of pepperoni, Italian sausage, or housemade meatballs. Finally, the pie is cooked for just the right amount of time at a high temperature until the crust turns crispy and golden brown.

Long Island’s Umberto’s Pizzeria isn’t just one of America’s most beloved and renowned pizza restaurants, it’s also the birthplace of a now-legendary New York pizza style: grandma pizza. Invented as an off-menu item inspired by the pizzas founder Umberto Corteo’s mother made back in Italy, the pizza was added to the menu in the 1980s and has since become a mainstay at corner pizzerias throughout Long Island and New York City. This pizza is a true icon, and for the first time it’s shipping nationwide!

INSTRUCTIONS / STORAGE

• Umberto’s Pizzeria ships Tuesday-Friday each week
• Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes
• Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight Shipping. Sorry guys!

• Pizzas ship frozen with ice packs, may thaw in transit.
• Upon arrival, store pizza in the freezer for up to 3 months.

To Serve

• Thaw pizza in the refrigerator for 24 hours or at room temperature for 1.5 hours.
• Preheat oven to 425° F.
• Place pizza directly on the oven rack to ensure you achieve the crispy Grandma Pizza crust you know and love.
• Bake pizza for 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbling.
• You did it! You now have a fully baked Grandma Pizza, made in the Original Umberto’s of New Hyde Park, and finished in the comfort of your home. Eat, and enjoy!
