New York’s defining coffee cake is the towering crumb cake, and Cups & Cakes Bakery in Rumson, NJ builds it on a thick, buttery yellow base – soft and moist with rich vanilla and subtle hints of lemon. Crowning the cake is a snowdrift of powdered sugar over huge, irregular streusel chunks, some the size of walnuts, golden-brown and crisp at the edges yet soft and sandy inside. It’s the unmistakably New York-style version, with a crumb layer nearly as thick as the cake beneath it. Break off a piece and a few crumbs tumble to the plate – the sign the crumb-to-cake ratio is exactly right.

- Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes
- Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight
- Crumb cake ships frozen without coolant, may thaw in transit.
- Upon arrival, store at room temperature for up to 5 days, in the refrigerator for up to 7 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
