Crusty on the outside and soft on the inside, this authentic Cuban bread is made according to a century-old recipe with high-gluten spring wheat flour that was created specifically for the bakery. It’s most commonly used for Cuban sandwiches, but many simply love it plain, warm, and fresh.
A Tampa landmark renowned for its fresh-baked Cuban bread, La Segunda was founded in 1915 by Juan Moré, who was born in Spain and opened the bakery after falling in love with Cuban bread while fighting in the Spanish-American War in Cuba. Today, fourth-generation owner Anthony Copeland Moré is keeping Juan’s dream alive in historic Ybor City by producing 18,000 loaves of Cuban bread daily along with addictively delicious Cuban turnovers as well as Cuban and Media Noche sandwiches. La Segunda is as authentic as it gets, and it’s now shipping nationwide!
