Matthew’s signature pizza is topped with hand-grated mozzarella and Reggianito cheeses, plenty of Maryland backfin crab meat, sweet onion, and a sprinkling of Old Bay! The handmade crust is pressed into an oiled cast iron pan, and it bakes up thick, puffy, and almost focaccia-like, with a crunchy outer crust and a massive amount of stretchy, lightly browned cheese on top.
Founded by Neapolitan immigrant Matthew Cacciolo and his son Frank in Baltimore’s Highlandtown neighborhood way back in 1943, Matthew’s Pizza is a Baltimore landmark and the city’s oldest pizzeria. If you’ve never had Baltimore-style pan pizza, Matthew’s is the best place to experience it!

To Serve
