This German Chocolate Cake is positively delicious, and Vice President Kamala Harris ordered a slice when she visited the bakery! The cake was first created by Sam German in the mid-1800s and became a fan favorite after it was first published in a Dallas newspaper a century later. Every bite of this version contains a perfect combination of dark chocolate cake, coconut, caramel, and pecans!
In 2002, Stephanie Hart decided to turn her passion for baking Southern-style cakes into a business, and Chicago’s Brown Sugar Bakery was born. Over the years, her cakes have become beloved as some of the very best in Chicago, and along with a loyal fan base she’s also appeared on Food Network’s “Holiday Baking Championship” and was a semifinalist for the 2019 James Beard Award for Outstanding Pastry Chef. - Brown Sugar Bakery ships Monday-Wednesday of each week
- Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes
- Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight Shipping. Sorry guys!
- Cakes ship frozen with ice packs, may thaw during transit.
- Upon arrival, store cake at room temperature, in the refrigerator, or in the freezer.
- Cakes may be stored for up to 2 days at room temperature (covered), up to 1 week in the refrigerator, or up to 1 month in the freezer.
