On Wooster Street in New Haven’s Little Italy, Sal Consiglio opened Sally’s Apizza in 1938 – one block from his uncle Frank Pepe’s original shop, same coal-fired tradition, and immediately a rival in the debate that has divided Connecticut ever since. The plain mozzarella and tomato is the pie that started it all: sauce-forward, coal-charred to a thin, blistered crust with the bitterness of real heat and the tang of fresh mozzarella, the combination that made Bill and Hillary Clinton regulars during their Yale years and hasn’t changed a degree since.

- Each pizza serves 1-2 people and measures approx. 12″
INSTRUCTIONS / STORAGE
- Sally’s Apizza ships Monday-Thursday of each week
- Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes
- Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight Shipping. Sorry guys!
- Pizzas ship frozen with dry ice.
- Dry ice may dissipate in transit, product may thaw.
- Do not remove dry ice with bare hands.
- Upon arrival, store pizzas in the freezer.
- Pizzas may be stored for up to 1 month in the freezer.
To Serve
From Thawed
- Place a baking pan or pizza stone on the middle rack of the oven and preheat to 450°F.
- Discard the cardboard insert and place the pizza onto the preheated pan (alternatively, place the pizza directly on the middle oven rack).
- Bake for 6-8 minutes, or until the crust is slightly crispy and the center is hot.
- Transfer to a cutting board and let sit for 1 minute.
- Slice, serve, and enjoy!
