Sliced Tongue

Sliced tongue is the old-school deli order that separates the initiated from the uninitiated – tender, subtly beefy, the cut that old-time kosher delis served before the neighborhood changed and the delis closed. Liebman’s Kosher Deli in Riverdale is the last kosher deli left in the Bronx, and the tongue is still on the menu the same way it was when Joe Liebman opened in 1953; Yuval Dekel, who has run the 235th Street institution since 2002, keeps the old cuts on the menu as a point of honor.

INSTRUCTIONS / STORAGE

• Liebman’s Deli ships Monday through Friday of each week
• Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes
• Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight Shipping. Sorry guys!

• Meats are frozen and shipped with ice packs which may thaw partially or fully during transit
• Upon arrival, place the meat in the refrigerator or freezer to serve later
• Allow meat to thaw in the refrigerator for a few hours or on a countertop before serving

To Serve

• Our beef tongue is meant to be eaten cold, room temperature or served warm.
• To heat product, remove desired amount and place on microwave safe dish.
• Microwave for 15 seconds until completely heated through.
