Jaarsma Bakery’s Almond Banket: the straight version of the Dutch Letter – puff pastry wrapped around three times the almond paste of the S-shaped original, from the Pella, Iowa Dutch bakery Harmon Jaarsma founded in 1898 using recipes he brought from the Netherlands. The longer, more generous almond paste delivery from the bakery that has been making the Dutch Letter longer than anyone in America.
