Description
Locally caught, off the coast of San Francisco and Marin coast. We’ve worked with local fisherman, Chris Franks, for the past few years. He supplies our restaurants with delicious, sustainably caught seafood.
Taasting Notes: Black Cod has a mild flavor and a rich and buttery texture. Perfect for pan-searing on the stove, baking, or smoking. A great fish for beginners!

INSTRUCTIONS / STORAGE
- Hog Island Oyster Co. ships Monday-Thursday of each week.
- Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes.
- Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight Shipping. Sorry guys!
- Fish ships cold with ice packs and should be refrigerated immediately upon arrival.
- Use within 5 days of the “packed on” date found on the product label.
- Fresh fish can be refrozen for later use. Previously frozen fish should not be refrozen – check your label for specifics.
To Serve
- Remove fish from packaging and prepare using your favorite cooking method.
- Black Cod has a super buttery texture and mild flavor – it pairs beautifully with miso-based marinades and is delicious smoked.
