Their pastelitos de guayaba layer sweet, ruby-red guava inside golden, flaky puff pastry, baked until the edges caramelize and the glaze shines. These are the classic companion to a Cuban coffee at the ventanita, made by hand the way the Gazitua family always has – buttery, sweet, and gone in three bites.

INSTRUCTIONS / STORAGE

• Sergios Cuban American Kitchen ships Tuesday through Thursday each week
• Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes
• Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight

• Items ship frozen with ice packs, may thaw in transit.
• If items arrive partially thawed but are still cool to the touch, that’s normal for frozen shipping; simply freeze or refrigerate right away.
• Upon arrival, place all items in the freezer until ready to prepare.
• For best quality and safety, keep frozen for up to 1 month.

To Serve

• Pre-heat oven to 350°F.
• Line a greased baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray.
• Place frozen guava pastries on the tray and brush tops evenly with egg wash.
• Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
• Let cool for 2-3 minutes, then glaze and serve.
