Ackroyd’s takes the shortbread recipe visiting Scottish Master Baker John Lindsay introduced to the third-generation Redford, Michigan bakery in the early 1950s and adds the earthy depth of matcha and a touch of honey – a modern variation on a formula that has otherwise been unchanged for 75 years. The sandy, melt-on-the-tongue crumb is the same; the pale green color and grassy, slightly sweet finish are entirely new. Eight pieces from one of America’s only traditional Scottish bakeries.

• Scones
• Scones ship frozen with ice packs, which may thaw during transit.
• Scones can be stored in the freezer for up to 90 days, in the refrigerator for up to 7 days or at room temperature for up to 2 days when stored in an airtight container.

• Cream
  • Cream arrives ready to enjoy.
  • Unopened cream has a long shelf life, approximately 12 months from date of delivery.
  • After opening, refrigerate and use within 5 days.
  • Do not freeze.

• Jam
  • Jam arrives ready to enjoy!
  • Store unopened jam in a cool, dark and dry place for 12-18 months.
  • Refrigerate jam after opening and consume within 3-4 weeks.

Toasted

• Scones can be warmed for a few minutes in the toaster to your preference.

From Frozen

• Preheat the oven to 350°F.
• Bake for 10-20 minutes depending on desired doneness.
• Note: watch scones closely while in the oven as they may burn.
• Remove, serve and enjoy!
